The Swan Cup

The Swan Cup for 2010 will represent the One Design Course Racing Season Championship of the C&C 99 Lake Ontario Fleet. For 2010 the races comprising the above Regattas will be considered as “counters” for the series.

The series will consist of all races held for each of the above regattas. Scoring will count the best 60% of all races held in the series for each individual yacht. Yachts not participating in race will be recorded as 1 point above the total number of yachts registered for the series. For clarity purposes please review the following example:

Total races in the series:                        25

Total number of races to count  15 (.60% * 25)

A yacht will take their best 15 race results out of the possible 25 as their counters.

Yachts not having participated in 15 races will be recorded as one over the total number of yachts registered for any race required to make up the 15 events.

Any yacht that races in a series event will be considered as “registered” for the series. It is anticipated that the Lake Ontario Fleet will have approximately 10 registered yachts for the season and that there will be 8 yachts for most events. We encourage all yachts to try to attend any race in the series even if they can’t make all of the races for a particular event. If a yacht has 14 finishes, they will be scored with their placement for the 14 races plus a score of 11 representing (10 registered yachts plus 1).

IYRU rules as adopted by CYA will be used for any tiebreaking interpretations once the above scores have been calculated.
